Law in Opera with Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg

On July 11, 2015, Castleton Festival welcomed back a close friend of the Festival and of opera. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has said, “If I could choose the talent I would most like to have, it would be a glorious voice.”  It was an honor to share this program with Justice Ginsburg, as she lent her unique perspective and analysis to the operatic repertoire.

“Perhaps it is no surprise that Justice Ginsburg is drawn to an art form so often preoccupied with questions of crime and punishment, of vengeance and mercy.” – The New York Times
