The Castleton Festival, under the artistic direction of Maestro Lorin and Dietlinde Maazel, was heralded in its inaugural year as one of the most important new American summer festivals and a remarkable training ground for the stars of tomorrow. The festival can only continue to happen with the ongoing support of those who share our vision for what the arts, and the passion of young people, can bring to our extraordinary community. Please join us in celebrating Castleton's Fifth Anniversary Season.
Ticket sales cover less than one third of the cost of making Festival performances come to life. When you make a gift to Castleton, you ensure that our community enjoys fresh and innovative performances, under the guidance of Maestro Lorin Maazel, "the undisputed best." Gramophone Magazine (2010)

What is the CATS program? An intensive training program which runs parallel with the Castleton Festival, designed to identify exceptional operatic talents and unleash their potential. The program prepares young professionals for international operatic careers through a wide range of Opera Workshop classes and coachings that encompass operatic and song literature, vocal technique and interpretation, acting for the stage, movement, foreign languages and career management.
Who are the Faculty? Internationally recognized professionals including Denyce Graves, Nancy Gustafson, Marlena Malas, James Morris, Stanford Olsen and Neil Shicoff - ALL under the meticulous supervision of Maestro Lorin Maazel.
What is our commitment? CATS will perform in the 2014 Festival in productions conducted by Maestro Maazel, as well as in song recitals, cabarets and opera scenes programs.
